We just crossed the threshold! There are now over 800,000 podcasts. Wow!

A few more statistics:
- More than 27.6 million episodes available (this counts only what's in the feeds, not what has ever been released)
- More than 95,000 podcasts have been added in the last 90 days
- More than 24,000 podcasts have been removed in the last 90 days
- Most podcasts with 9 or fewer episodes haven't published in the last 90 days, whereas the majority with 10 or more have.

Do you want to change your behavior? Change your identity.

Do you want to change your behavior? Change your identity.

In a recent Self Improvement Daily episode, Brian Ford talked with Jim Fortinabout the power of identity. (A powerful podcast episode. Link in the comments)

A non smoker isnโ€™t even tempted if someone asks them to smoke. Why? Because itโ€™s part of their identity.

How many times have you heard โ€œI donโ€™t smoke.โ€

They donโ€™t even have to decide because they identify as a non smoker.

๐Ÿค” What behaviors do you want to get rid of or create?

โญ๏ธ Now decide what identity you need to adopt to become who you want to be.

An identity that has meant a lot to me is my identity as a child of God.

โ€œThe Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.โ€ - Romans 8:16-17

Think about it. You are a literal son or daughter of the most powerful being. You are his heir. You are important. You have an infinite potential.

Donโ€™t ever forget it.

Hereโ€™s a link to a music video that my little brother did. It has a powerful message. And my little family is in it.

Enjoy!

Use Friction as a Tool

I've been thinking a lot about friction lately. Especially as I'm working from home and have more distractions than ever before.

Friction is simply a tool in our toolbox. Are you using it to your advantage?

โซ We should increase friction in the things we want to stop doing. (example: move distracting apps to a distant page and folder on your phone).

โฌ We should decrease friction for the things we want to do more (example: I've started putting a book next to my bed so I read more often).

These ideas are not my own :) Thanks to Nir Eyal and his book, Indistractible, for helping me think about this.
