We just crossed the threshold! There are now over 800,000 podcasts. Wow!

A few more statistics:
- More than 27.6 million episodes available (this counts only what's in the feeds, not what has ever been released)
- More than 95,000 podcasts have been added in the last 90 days
- More than 24,000 podcasts have been removed in the last 90 days
- Most podcasts with 9 or fewer episodes haven't published in the last 90 days, whereas the majority with 10 or more have.

๐Ÿค” Selling Services vs. Selling Value ๐Ÿค”

๐Ÿค” Selling Services vs. Selling Value ๐Ÿค”

โ€ผ๏ธ Spoiler Alert: Selling value is better.

I've been thinking a lot about this lately.

**Iโ€™ll use my business as an example:**

I can say that I provide:
- Branding
- Websites
- Podcasts
- SEO
- Digital Marketing
- ...

OR, I can sell:
- Business growth
- Clarity of vision
- An audience
- More leads
- More sales.

What's better?

Obviously itโ€™s better to sell value.

There are millions of website designers in the world. If I simply sell websites, my potential clients could literally go anywhere else and receive the same service. Selling value on the other hand lets them know what transformation you can create in their life. Itโ€™s much harder for competitors to compete on that.

PS: My LinkedIn headline will be changing soon. I don't think "JMH Media. โญ๏ธ Creating Brands | ๐Ÿ–ฅ Websites | ๐ŸŽ™ Podcasts | โœ๐Ÿป Content | ๐Ÿ”ฅ Digital Marketing" fits my new vision.

Is content creation worth it? It's a lot of work!

Is content creation worth it? It's a lot of work!

It's worth it if... ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป

I just got off a call with someone that is incredibly passionate about a specific topic. They want to create a blog and podcast, but they wonder: is it worth it? it's a lot of work.

Here's my answer: What's your end goal?

Are you doing it as a hobby, or do you want it to make money?

Don't get me wrong. A blog and podcast can make A LOT of money.

That said, most people burn out long before they get there.

If you're doing it because it's something you love to do, then you're more likely to make it to the point where it makes money.

Find something you'd do even if it never makes a penny. Then work as hard as you can to make a 1M+ :)

Trndsttrs "Going Out of Business" Marketing Tactic

โ€ผ๏ธ Lets to do something different:
๐Ÿง analyze a marketing tactic from another company.

Last week, Jake Bjorseth of Trndsttrs posted that his company was โ€œfor now [โ€ฆ.] no more.โ€ Today, after a week of silence, they announced new branding. (links to both posts in the comments)

I've seen opinions, criticisms, and praises of this tactic.

My thoughts:

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป The Good
Good Marketing creates emotional responses and encourages conversations. This tactic worked. I'm sure Jake and Trndsttrs have had more views and have been more top of mind over the past week. Anecdotally, Iโ€™ve been checking Jakeโ€™s page almost daily hoping for updates. This was creative, and probably effective. Iโ€™m writing about it, arenโ€™t I?

๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿป The Bad
Good marketing creates emotional responses and views, but more importantly, it creates trust. This was a potentially dangerous move since some people following Jake and Trndsttrs Media may not trust them anymore.

๐Ÿ˜ง The Ugly
Honestly, it is a little distasteful because there are a lot of people loosing jobs, and businesses REALLY going under. Itโ€™s never good taste to poke fun at other peoples pain.
-

At the end of the day, Iโ€™m genuinely curious to see how this turns out. Jake, did this tactic work for you guys? What results did you get.

What do you all think?
